November at Ministikwan Lake like everywhere across the country brings with it the tide of change. The rustling of leaves in the crisp fall air, the thick autumn smell of summer’s foliage fermenting where the wind has piled them up waiting for a covering of snow, the water as it transitions form a liquid to a solid then tinkles like a chandelier when the ripples in the water breaking off pieces of the newly formed ice and pushes them together creating a symphony with natural elements. This is the time of year we comfort ourselves re-kindling our wood fires to shake off the frosty mornings; we see the last of the flocks heading south and the northern flocks arriving, the sun seems to be moving quickly now and shines in three different windows and sets early allowing for long dark nights where you can slip into a calmer, quieter time, relax by the fire enjoying a snifter of fine cognac, it’s good for the soul. Of course in Saskatchewan the time virtually does not change we do not experience daylight savings time, we remain steady on course as everyone around us falls back.
November 2011 not only brought in a tide of change it brought the near anielation of the Saskatchewan NDP Party. Brad Wall has been given an overwhelming opportunity to display Saskatchewan’s importance in Canada
.
Speaking of Canada and the importance of the Nation tomorrow is the day we thank those who fought for what we have today. Remembrance Day. I will stand in silence for those who paid the ultimate price and those who survived to live in for what they fought. I will also remember my father who fought in the allied forces for the freedom he believed in. He lies today buried with fellow soldiers most of which have the Military Headstone at the foot of the grave marking their contribution. Lest we forget.
