When you are so strongly drawn to music you can’t “not” be a musician! A quote I believe from Debbie Davies the Jazz / Blues player not the 1972 Playboy Playmate Debbie Davis.
In the aftermath of the past two storms at Ministikwan Lake we have had to solicit the services of Bry-Tan Trucking with their 30 ton picker to remove the trees which landed on our buildings. Bryan a campground resident and Bry-Tans owner, a picker extraordinaire was on hand to exemplify what can be done when at the helm. He plucked three trees in one go manoeuvring them without incident to the ground. Now that’s how it’s done, I believe were his words. I think he was saying to himself, I’ve still got it.
What most of us in the campground were unaware of though was Bryan’s musical prowess. We knew he was a picker, but not a guitar picker. It seems that thought the summer between the campground and the Loon Lake golf course Bryan has picked up the guitar and is confidently offering lessons to campground residents both young and old. I understand Bryans neighbour Don was the first one over to learn a new cord for his own repertoire. The Campground may well become known as Nashville North and the latest heart throb may emerge and yes Don it is better to have a full set of strings. Thank you Bryan for bringing the gift of music to the campground, I hear you are collaborating around the campfire on a song about the Goat Trail and will hopefully debut on the local “Goat” radio station. Congratulations and good luck on that we can hardly wait.
