A message from above

Having lived and worked at Ministikwan Lake for over 30 years, we have seen a lot of people come and go. Events have happened, stories have been told and now some of those events are topics of conversation.
I am not sure what year it was, but it was in the month of July. The sun was hot and the water was calm, we were cleaning up the lake shore and we had a local boy, Curtis, working for us. Curtis had been out in the water cutting weeds with one of the old wooden syths that has the offset handle, if you have seen one you would know it is about six feet long with about a three foot metal blade curving towards you while in use.
As the day progressed, Curtis had cut a good way into the lake so he was standing in three feet of water with the syth. Some time in the afternoon the sky opened up with a thunder storm, but Curtis remained in the lake cutting away. My wife, concerned about his safety, went down to the lake to tell Curtis to come out, that lighting may strike and that would not be a good thing for him. Curtis replied that it was okay, the Lord would protect him, he would stay and work.
Well, my wife was a little more than shocked and unsure of what to do, she walked away. Understand that Curtis was young in his conviction and was just coming to know the Lord.
A short while later my wife returned to the lake shore, telling Curtis the Lord had sent her to tell him it was time to come get out of the water.
Curtis must have found that acceptable because he came out of the lake. As they walked away from the lake heading for the shelter of the store, Curtis still adamantly declared he would have been fine.
At the end of the day my wife was happy that the message she had delivered was heeded. Curtis today lives in Onion Lake with his wife and family.
