The windshield wipers didn’t get much of a break last Thursday on the drive from Ministikwan Lake to Winnipeg.
As I passed Colonsay Saskatchewan 30 miles east of Saskatoon, my memory was jogged. Years ago we had a good number of customers from Colonsay and one in particular had camped for over two weeks in a tent with his family while it rained every day.
Sid and Pauline along with their family were true campers never giving hope that the tap would be turned off and the sun would once again shine bringing comfort to the outdoors.
Sid had set up a tarp under which Pauline had a clothes line.
One evening after hand laundering several pairs of her undies Pauline hung them on the line. Low and behold the next day they had vanished nowhere to be found.
At the same time Ron and Carole were in camp with their family, with everyone being confined, privacy became a priority.
One evening after perhaps one too many sociables Carole gave us a play by play of a lake side event.
One afternoon when there was a break in the rain they had headed out onto the lake for a little pleasure of the flesh but Ron was so nervous he couldn’t keep his attention on the business at hand. According to Carole, Ron was like a toilet seat up and down checking to see if anyone was coming.
When I inquired as to the steamy location Ron said where the Panties were hanging in the tree. We never established whether the panties were Pauline’s or not but that’s how that charming location got the Moniker “Panty Point” on Ministikwan Lake.
