Coyote
A good number of years ago we were working in Fort Kent at the Thermal Plant, that was when coyotes were worth $100 or more. One night driving home from work, about 15 miles from home, south of Pierceland, a coyote ran into our path and as a result, we stopped to put it in the truck box.
Upon our arrival I went to take the coyote out, so we could skin it out and to our surprise the animal was standing in the truck box. I am not sure which of us was more shocked.
The coyote must have been quite dazed after his encounter with the truck. As we looked at each other I realized that all I had was my stainless steel thermos in my hand. I attempted to dispatch the coyote with my thermos, but he was a little too quick and out of the truck he went, heading for the bush. So much for the $100 gift!
