Smooth start to summer - May 26

I always thought a high speed bullet was a train that ran across the European landscape at 200 miles per hour. Now I come to discover there are many things called a bullet. Although I have never seen one I have come to learn it is also some sort of highspeed personal blender and over the past holiday weekend I come to find out they also operate unmanned.
Apparently Olive over in the campground was attempting to make a smoothie and was unable to get the bullet to do its thing. She gave up and walks over to our place and while she was away the bullet started on its own, redecorating the fifth wheel trailer. Robert retuned to find the new colours on the ceiling and walls. Knowing Olive had left he too was trying to figure out what had happened. I suppose one can just chalk it up to the start of a new season at the lake.
For the most part the May long weekend around Ministikwan Lake was uneventful as campers got settled in for the year. Young people may have finally figured out that they should keep to themselves and keep their activities contained and isolated in the bush around Bronson Lake. A provincial fire ban was instituted just before the long weekend due to the dry weather and lack of rain around the province. Having said that, there are always those folks who believe they are above the law and blatantly had fires blazing away and we did see this over the weekend in a number of locations.
Most people when requested to extinguish their fires did so, but as usual there were some slow learners. So far our area has escaped the devastation of a forest fire, but we must all continue to be vigilant and insure our fires are out and never leave the campsite with a smoldering fire. Fishing has also changed a little on Ministikwan Lake - there are new quotas on the number of fish one can harvest and some areas that are restricted during the early part of the season. One should consult the provincial fish guide for clarifi cation of the details. With a fairly smooth start to the summer season I trust everyone will have a fun filled summer at the lake.
