One of the 12 Good Sports of Lashburn has found their way up to Ministikwan Lake. It seems the December poster boy also weekends at Ministikwan Lake.
Who would have thought Santa Clause was posing in the buff with his Christmas wish list right next door.
Well he did Glen is the December center fold for the Lashburn 2010 calendar which is used as a fund raiser for the Sportsplex, I was glad to see my new neighbour is a good sport.
But I suppose I already new that when he told us all a funny story outlining a days event while courting the bride he has today. It seems as a young teenager Glen’s wife to be having grown up in town was unfamiliar with the happenings in the country side.
One Saturday afternoon in early spring Glen’s bride took the center seat in the pick up between Glen and his father as they headed out to look at a purchasing a new bull for their heard.
As the miles went by they rounded a corner and there was a huge tarp flopping in the wind (it was the cover for a silage pit) wow what’s that queried Glens bride to be, well that’s a breeding pit explained Glens father while winking at Glen going on to explain the details of the cows, bulls and activities under the tarp and left it at that.
They checked on the new bull and headed home, upon arrival Glen’s mother inquired as to how the day went.
With exuberance Glen’s bride explained she had learned something new to day, with obvious curiosity Glen’s mother requested details, the young girl started in with the intricate details of the breeding pit.
Glen’s mother had heard enough she could hardly contain herself as she scolded the boy’s for their sick sense of humour and explained to the young lady she had been told a pack of lies none of it was true, was she really ready to join up with a family willing to pull her leg like that?
Well she did and many years later they still happily married, several years ago they purchased a cottage at Ministikwan Lake, becoming the newest part time residents, with colourful stories, sporting photo’s and all.
